Photography and Therapy Today: It’s a Reality

by Sheen Watkins

Photography therapy is a lot more than just taking a photograph. Today and into the near future, we are all in a state of watch, wait, hope and pray. The times are tough for so many, for many reasons.

Share Beauty & What Inspires You

For those of us that can get outdoors, we bring the current season back inside. We share color, light and life. Some photographers remain indoors to create their magic.

We process our images. Then we post. On Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and others.

Our visions are a bright spot for others. We reach the homebound and offer a view to a world they may not get to see. A mental break.

Photography therapy is a break. An outlet. A gift to others. An emotional gift to ourselves.

There’s joy in our moments of capturing the image. We also engage in and see our work through completion in post processing. We get feedback through likes, shares and comments. And, if our work inspires, people buy our art and photography services as a result.

When there’s fear and uncertainty, an image that evokes a smile or hope is worth its weight in gold.
